Douglas Leather is a specialist ceremonial leather atelier producing premium Sam Browne belts, cross belts and officer dress accoutrements for military and police ceremonial appointments across Australia.

We work closely with serving members, commissioned officers and senior ranks to produce leather equipment worthy of parade, investiture and formal dress occasions.

Douglas Leather is proud to be an Approved Supplier to Western Australia Police, producing ceremonial leather equipment to the standards required for commissioned and senior ranks.

Each piece is individually hand-crafted using traditional methods, precision finishing and the highest grade bridle leather sourced from renowned English and Italian tanneries. Nothing is mass-produced. Nothing is rushed. Every belt is built to outlast service.

A LINEAGE OF CRAFT

Douglas Leather was established by Jock Douglas, who served in both the British Army and the Australian Army.

With extensive experience in ceremonial and parade dress, Jock began producing Sam Browne belts to a standard he believed officers deserved — not merely issued equipment, but precision-crafted ceremonial leather worthy of rank.

Demand grew quietly through military networks across Australia. Reputation alone built the name.

Upon retiring from service, Jock passed his knowledge, discipline and uncompromising standards to his son, Scott Douglas.

Today, Douglas Leather continues that lineage, working with members of the Australian Defence Force and Police services to produce ceremonial leather equipment trusted at the highest levels of presentation.
