Every Douglas Leather Sam Browne begins with Sedgwick traditional bridle leather—universally recognised as one of Britain and Europe’s finest leathers. Each hide is hand-finished using traditional methods, enriched with natural oils and fats, and polished to achieve its signature open-grain, high-gloss bridle finish.
From there, the craftsmanship becomes entirely personal. We hand-cut every strap from the hide in our Australian workshop, ensuring absolute control over quality, grain placement, and strength. Every edge, stitch, and contour is shaped by hand, using time-honoured techniques that honour the ceremonial significance of the Sam Browne.
All fittings are solid brass, removable, and built to last, maintaining authenticity while offering functional flexibility.
