DOUGLAS LEATHER – CARE & MAINTENANCE GUIDE

Your Douglas Leather kit is crafted from premium materials and built to last. A small amount of care will keep it looking sharp for years to come.

Hardware Checks

• Every few wears, check that all screws are tightened and fastened securely.

• This prevents fittings working loose and ensures no brass components are lost.

Conditioning the Leather

• Use a quality leather conditioner periodically to keep the leather supple.

• Occasional wear: condition once every 1–3 years.

• Frequent wear: condition approximately every year. (Frequent wear is assumed as one a week)

After Exposure to Rain or Weather

• If your kit gets wet, wipe it down with a soft dry cloth as soon as possible.

• Allow it to dry naturally — do not use direct heat.

• Once dry, apply a suitable leather sealer (such as Seal & Shine). Douglas Leather can supply recommended products.

Storage

• Store in the supplied dust bag when not in use.

• Keep in a cool, dry place.

• Avoid damp environments and prolonged direct sunlight.

Removing Brass Fittings

• When removing brass, note where each piece came from.

• Some screws vary in length — return each screw to its original position to ensure correct fit and security.
