Handmade vs Production line!

Every piece that leaves Douglas Leather is made by hand in our workshop — not on a factory line and not by machines repeating the same thing all day.
Because of that, the odd little imperfection can happen. A slight missed stitch, a small mark from working the leather, or tiny variations in finishing are all part of genuine handmade work and working with natural materials.
These little things don’t affect the strength or lifespan of your kit — they’re simply signs that a real person made it.
That said, I take quality seriously. Every item is checked before it leaves the workshop, and if something isn’t right, it gets remade before you ever see it.
If you receive your kit and something doesn’t sit right with you, just reach out. If there’s a genuine issue, I’m always happy to sort it and remake where needed. All I ask is a bit of understanding that handmade will never look like mass-produced — and that’s exactly what makes it special.
Thanks for supporting small, supporting craft, and trusting me with your kit.
