Introducing Sedgwick Oak Brown

A Refined Alternative in Ceremonial Bridle Leather

At Douglas Leather, material selection is never an afterthought. The leather we choose defines the presence, structure and longevity of every ceremonial belt we produce.

For years, we have proudly offered Sedgwick Australian Nut – a deep, rich dark brown bridle leather known for its commanding tone and formal authority on parade.

We are now pleased to introduce a new addition to our ceremonial range.

Sedgwick Oak Brown.

Oak Brown is a distinguished dark tan bridle leather that offers a slightly lighter, warmer finish while maintaining the same premium quality and structural integrity expected from Sedgwick and Co of England.

Where Australian Nut delivers a strong, traditional dark brown presence, Oak Brown provides a refined alternative for those seeking a lighter ceremonial tone without compromising formality.

The difference is subtle but noticeable.

Australian Nut: deep, rich, formal dark brown.

Oak Brown: warm dark tan with classic English character.

Both leathers are produced by Sedgwick and Co, one of England’s most respected bridle leather tanneries, renowned worldwide for consistency, durability and finish.

As with all Douglas Leather ceremonial pieces, Oak Brown belts are:

Hand cut

Hand stitched

Structurally reinforced

Finished with removable solid brass or nickel fittings

This is not simply a colour variation. It is an expansion of choice for commissioned officers and ceremonial appointments who prefer a slightly lighter aesthetic while maintaining parade authority.

Oak Brown is now available across our Sam Browne and cross belt range.

If you are considering a ceremonial belt and would like to compare Australian Nut and Oak Brown, we welcome your enquiry.
